Logic Rivers: The Seamless, No-Code Solution for Building End-to-End Data Workflows

As cloud data warehouses smash the old limitations on data volume and scalability, and new data sources emerge every day, companies are experiencing more unwieldy data processes alongside these new opportunities.

Now more than ever, data-driven companies have to manage an ever-growing number of data connectors, perform more technical grunt work to maintain data systems, and prepare and transform more data for analysis.

Companies that automate these data processes can develop a real competitive advantage over their peers. With Rivery’s Logic Rivers, customers can automatically orchestrate and transform their entire data workflow, from start to finish, in just a few minutes.

Logic Rivers: Orchestrate and Transform An Entire Data Workflow in a Few Clicks

A Logic River allows customers to create a data workflow that includes both the ingestion of data into the cloud and in-database transformations.

Rivery comes with 80+ pre-built data connectors, and also offers custom API support on-demand. The platform cleanses, preps, and transforms data into business-ready formats directly inside cloud databases. Logic Rivers empower customers to combine these ingestion and transformation capabilities into a single data workflow.

Customers use Logic Rivers to embed Logic Steps into a data workflow. Each type of Logic Step performs a different kind of process on the data:

  • River: Trigger an existing river in your account to run.
  • SQL / Script: Run an in-database query and store the results in a table or file storage. Or, run a custom SQL script in the syntax of your cloud database.
  • Action: Perform any custom REST call.
  • Condition: Execute conditional logic in your workflow. For example, skip a Logic Step if a certain condition isn’t met.

Logic Rivers automate the processes of data orchestration, without requiring a single line of code. Logic Steps can ingest data sources using pre-built API connectors, eliminating technical grunt work altogether.

Customers can wrap each Logic Step in a Container to organize the data workflow. Containers enable customers to group different Logic Steps together to perform the same action on them. For example, customers can set a Container to run in parallel, so that all the Logic Steps execute their respective data rivers at the same time.

When all the actions in the Container are completed, the next Logic Step in the overall sequence will execute. Customers can disable any Container or Logic Step within the workflow at any time.

After data orchestration, customers can automate data transformations directly inside a cloud database using a Logic River. This allows customers to build flexible custom queries that automatically cleanse, prep, and transform data, right within a cloud data warehouse.

Customers can store the results of a source query in a database table, file storage, or as a variable.

When saving data into a database table, customers simply specify the desired table name and location for the query results. Rivery supports Overwrite, Upsert-Merge, and Append as loading modes. These modes require no initial setup on the database side – if a table does not exist yet, Rivery will create it automatically.

Why Logic Rivers Matter: In a Crowded Market, the Edge is Everything

Logic Rivers can automate an entire data workflow, from ingestion to transformation. This no-code feature saves customers tremendous time and resources, allowing them to focus instead on high level analysis and strategic initiatives.

In the crowded cloud landscape, the opportunities are immense, but only if companies can develop lasting efficiencies. Logic Rivers are just one more way Rivery gives our customers the edge over other players in the market.

At Rivery, we are committed to developing the features that keep our customers on top. This is how our customers stay ahead of the curve, so they can work on important projects, while we handle the nuts-and-bolts of the back end.
